Child theme

    I followed the instructions here https://ampforwp.com/tutorials/article/child-theme-amp/ by creating a folder ampforwp and placing it in wp-content/themes/ . I then uploaded my versions of index.php and archive.php . Basically only minor changes from the existing design2 files.

    The child theme was not recognized. Only modifying design 2 directly worked.

    plugin version 0.9.82.1

    Is it necessary to use the AMP theme framework plugin as well?
