Checkout Optional Address Fields causing Paypal Errors

    I have just tried updating to Woocommerce 3.4 but when trying to checkout, and leaving the Optional address fields blank, the following Paypal errors occur:
    • PayPal error (10727): The street address in your shipping address is not valid. Please double-check your shipping address and try again. PayPal error (10728): The city in your shipping address is not valid. Please double-check your shipping address and try again. PayPal error (10730): The ZIP code or postal code in your shipping address is not valid. Please double-check your shipping address and try again.

    Entering all the address details (even though they are not required for the download only gift vouchers), solves the problem and the payment processes correctly.

    I am currently running V.1.5 of Paypal Express because each time I tried updating subsequent to version 1.5 I got Paypal error 3. So it is currently reverted to 1.5. I did lodge a previous ticket for this error, but the ticket was marked as solved before I had a chance to test anything out.

    This is a live site and I can’t afford any more problems with it for the client, so I have reverted Woocommerce back to the previous version. I need help with these issues please.

    Hi there,

    The first thing to do would be to set up a staging/testing site. This way, you’ll be able to experiment with the latest versions of the plugins/themes without affecting things for your live customers.

    When looking at your system status report, I see that the theme you’re using is overriding several core WooCommerce templates with its own ones. To make sure this isn’t the root cause or a 3rd party plugin for that matter, are you experiencing the same issue after deactivating all of your plugins (except WooCommerce) and switching to the default Twenty Seventeen theme?

    RK, Thanks for getting back to me. I will need a bit of time to set this up and test but I will say that I use the same theme builder for all my sites, including another Woocommerce site which uses Paypal Standard, and I have never had any problems with it. I will check with the theme builder also and come back to you.

    I setup the staging site and tested with the latest Woocommerce update, and it is fixed. It seems to have been a problem with Woocommerce after all.
