Hi, I have installed the plugin and integrated API. But on checkout it seems plugin only checks vat format not if vat is valid or not. For example if I enter VAT not FR000000 sth it still apply zero VAT. Is there a way disable checkout if VAT is not valid.

    Hi,

Thanks for your feedback. We have released a new plugin update — version 1.0.7.

Please update VIESAC to the latest version. This release improves the WooCommerce checkout validation flow and now supports not only VAT format checks, but also live VAT validation directly on the checkout page when a VIESAC API key is connected.

The update also adds clearer checkout messages, including a success state for valid VAT numbers and a dedicated error when the VAT number country prefix does not match the selected checkout country.

If version 1.0.7 does not appear as an available update in your WordPress admin yet, please wait a little while for the WordPress.org update system to refresh. Alternatively, you can remove the current plugin version and install it again from WordPress.org.

We’ll mark this request as resolved, but please let us know if you still experience any issues after updating to version 1.0.7.

    Thanks!

Hi, a small issue though error message appear correctly when you enter vat number. But if you click checkout button then there is no way to know if vat number is incorrect.
I guess it will be better to include invalid vat in standard woocommerce error (wc_add_notice).

Also, plugin add perfectly add vat field to my account billing address but upon check the value (vat number) is not preloaded from profile.

    Thanks for reporting these issues.

They have all been resolved in version 1.0.9:

invalid entered VAT numbers now show a standard WooCommerce checkout error, while VAT remains optional and can be removed or left blank. VAT numbers saved in the customer’s billing profile are also pre-filled at checkout in both Classic Checkout and Checkout Block.

    Hi,
Thanks for the quick support. I am trying to find a filter to modify the label for the VAT field on the profile page.
I managed to change the label on checkout but can’t find the correct filter to modify the VAT ID label on the profile page.

Hi, thanks for reporting this. We’ve added editable VAT field label and placeholder settings in VIESAC 1.0.10.

They apply to checkout and My Account address forms, and are compatible with WPML, Polylang, and TranslatePress. VAT validation remains optional and follows the same VIESAC validation rules as checkout.
