    Dear Customer Service,

I’m sorry to bother you, but I’m experiencing an issue with the checkout form that I cannot resolve on my own.Issue Summary:

Some customers (increasingly more often) are reporting that they are unable to proceed to the payment step, despite filling out all required fields in the checkout form.Issue Details:

    • The checkout form displays an error saying that required fields must be filled in, even though they already are.
    • This problem occurs most frequently with returning customers.
    • Customers have tried troubleshooting with the following steps:
      • Clearing cookies – but the issue persists.
      • Using incognito mode – sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn’t.
      • Trying a different device – again, inconsistent results.
    • Some customers can complete the checkout on one attempt, but fail on another, seemingly at random.
    • I have been unable to reproduce the issue myself, but it is being reported more frequently.

    Additional Notes:

    • I have not installed any new plugins or updates recently.
    • In the past, I received very few reports of this issue (one or two cases), but now it is becoming more common.

    Request for Assistance:

Could you please advise if there is an option in WooCommerce that could help resolve this issue?

Thank you for your time and assistance—I truly appreciate any guidance, as I am not very experienced in these technical matters.

    Best regards,
    Martin

    Hi there!

No worries at all! I’m happy to help.

To better understand the issue, could you please confirm whether the error occurs with a specific payment method or if it happens regardless of which payment method is selected?

Additionally, I’d recommend setting up a staging site and enabling the Cash on Delivery (COD) payment method. This will allow us to replicate the issue in a controlled environment without affecting live transactions. you can use the following plugin to create staging site https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-staging/. Also share the URL of the staging site.

In the meantime, I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the necessary information below for us to investigate the issue further:

    • System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status
    • Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

Please use https://pastebin.com/ or https://gist.github.com/ and share a link to that paste in reply here. Once we have more information, we’ll be able to assist you further.

    Hello,

Thank you for looking into my issue.

I am still investigating the problem and currently do not have enough data to determine whether the payment method is the cause or if another variable is responsible. However, I have noticed that the issue is reported by returning customers—unfortunately, I do not have data from new customers yet, as they might either abandon the purchase or not encounter the issue.

    Here is the requested information:

    • System Status Report(link)
    • Fatal error logs → None found. The only logs available are “wpdesk-sender” and “wc_logger,” but I cannot open “wc_logger” as it displays the message: “1 expired log file removed.”

Please keep this topic open, as I will return with more details once I gather more data. I will also create a staging site with Cash on Delivery enabled.

One question: How should I securely share the login credentials for the staging site on this forum? Apologies if this is a basic question—I’m still learning. Thank you for your patience and guidance.

    Best regards,
    MK

    Hi @mkwpadm,

Thank you for following up. I’ve reviewed your report and noticed that you have the Code Snippets plugin installed. Could you let me know what code you have added there? Also, can you confirm if your checkout page was built using Divi? I see that you have a few Divi addons and the Divi theme active.

    Hello Moses,

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it.

    Regarding your questions:
    1. In code snippet I only use “add to cart button” code

// Add “Add to Cart” buttons in Divi shop pages
    add_action( ‘woocommerce_after_shop_loop_item’, ‘woocommerce_template_loop_add_to_cart’, 20 );

    1. My website is built using the Divi theme. Some pages—primarily category pages—have been customized using the Divi Theme Builder. However, the checkout page was the default WooCommerce checkout. (I did recently add a yellow notification box on the checkout page to alert customers, after noticing a potential issue.)

Please let me know if you need any additional details or clarification to help identify the issue.

    Thanks again for your support!
    Marcin

    Hi @mkwpadm,

Thank you for confirming. To move forward, I’d like to run some tests in a staging environment. Please create a staging site based on your live site or move a copy of it to a subdomain.

Once that’s done, deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce, and switch the theme to Storefront. After setting that up, kindly share the link to the staging site along with the system status report—preferably via gist.github.com.
