“checking the site connection security” splash screen
-
Hi. Lately when visiting my website takes me to a security page saying “checking the site connection security”. It sits on this page for a few seconds before taking the user to the homepage. This is affecting engagement with my website. For example, I have noticed the amount of quote requests has dropped since this started to happen.
My host ( Siteground ) said its related to Cleantalk. They suggested:
“From what we found on bespokerepairs.com, the delay is being triggered by the CleanTalk bot detector script, not by our hosting, SSL, or SiteGround security layer. The site itself responds normally from the server side.
If CleanTalk is active, the best fix is to turn off its bot/challenge/browser verification feature rather than removing the whole plugin. Also review the same plugin on your other WordPress sites if they show the same page.”
I would like to stop this splash screen from appearing. Can you suggest which settings I should disable to stop it happening? As it stands, the delay it adds before the user gets to my website is not helping my user engagement. Thanks.
