• I was working on updating a site and now the checkboxes in WordPress are not showing check/tick marks. I am referring to the WordPress Dashboard itself, not the website I’m working on. For example, if I go to “All Posts” and try to check the checkboxes to select one or more posts, the checkbox does not show a check/tick.

I installed a clean version of wordpress in a different directory and it’s working fine.

Before i discovered this problem, I was working on trying to fix http resources loading over https. I used the Better Search Replace plugin to change “http” to “https” in all the tables in that plugin. I then thought that some ‘https’ might have switched to ‘httpss’, so i then did a search/replace to change any ‘httpss’ to ‘https.’

I reinstalled WordPress 6.4.1 from the WordPress dashboard. I also went into phpmyadmin and executed the repair command on all the tables.

Please help. I would really like to get this fixed. Also, I’m concerned that I broke something else I haven’t discovered.

  • Hey,

First, disable all plugins and switch to the default WordPress 2024/23 theme. Then, recheck the issue. If it still persists, ensure that there are no instances of “httpss” or “http” on your website, and verify that the SSL certificate is installed correctly.

You can also install the Really Simple SSL plugin and configure it.

Thank you. I tried these things. The problem with checkboxes in the WordPress Dashboard is still there.
