Generally, it means you don’t have permissions to optimize images. It is also possible that your WP login session has timed out, although I’ve never seen that, and I’ve run some rather long bulk optimizations (2-3 hours).
More specifically, the bulk process requires the ability to edit other’s posts, which is included in the Editor and Administrator roles. The second check is for a valid ‘nonce’, a security token that verifies the referring page, and makes sure that a hacker isn’t trying to directly access functions they shouldn’t be. A nonce will expire also, which may be the cause. Or if you use the back button in your browser it can screw things up.
Are you getting the error every time you run the bulk, or just this once?
Just this one (sub-domain). Intalled EWWW Image Optimizer in both root domain (optimizing run ok) and sub-domain in same share hosting server.

When you browse to the Bulk Optimize page, check the page source and see if you can find a section like this:

/* ]]> */Ah, this is on the theme optimization page. I didn’t see that on the screenshot since it was cut off partially. That’s all new functionality, and requires Administrator permissions. If it is a multi-site install, it will only allow the Network/Super Admin to perform the optimization.

let me try to optimize again… see…., may be caused by both root domain and sub-domain run EWWW image optimizing in same time.

As long as the sites are using separate databases, there should be no issues. Even if they are, the nonce values should be handled by wordpress. Can you check the page source to see if any other plugins are loading javascript on the Theme Optimization page?

not sure that reinstalling the plugin will do anything, but I guess it couldn’t hurt at this point. I’m guessing it’s an error with the nonce values, but I’m not sure how or why.
You might check the page source for that nonce value, and then do a search in your database (if you have something like phpmyadmin or know how to do a query through the whole WP database otherwise) to see if it is stored in the database at all.Only Bulk EWWW Image Optimize in Media is okay.
But Bulk EWWW Image Optimize in Appearance (Theme image) was facing this problem.
Weird….

looks like the Theme Optimizer is trying to use the table reserved for buddypress status… Hmm, I’ll have to take a look at that and see what happened. That table should exist, but it seems like perhaps it didn’t get created properly with the 1.5.0 upgrade.
Can you look in your mysql database, and see if you see a table at all with ‘ewwwio_images’ in the name?
Also, try turning on DEBUG mode in your wp-config.php file. Then deactivate, and reactivate the plugin, and see if it throws any errors while trying to update the database.
