chat room anonym problem

    Hi, I want guests to be able to enter the chat room but I don’t want them to appear in the list. Is there a way to do this? For example, anonymous users shouldn’t be visible but should still be able to post in the chat.

    It’s very interesting; I delete all the participants, but after a while, they all get added back.

    Hello,

    You can already achieve this with the existing settings: in the chat room settings enable “Hide participants” and “Hide participants count”.

    The participant list will then be hidden from everyone except administrators and chat room moderators, while guests can still read and post messages.

    Please note the guest’s display name will still appear on the messages they send — that is inherent to chatting.

    Regarding participants being added back after you delete them: that is the “Auto join” / “Auto add” feature reconciling membership automatically. To curate the participant list manually, disable auto join / auto add for that room, or ban the specific users you want to keep out.
