Changing wp-content
-
Hi,
By changing the wp-content name, the icons aren’t displayed any more.
Any idea to fix it ?Thank you

To be precise, I used iThemes security to change the wp-content name. Then, all the icons (post types and separator) are gone. 🙁
Don’t understand, I don’t see any url in the css code which could be involved…Hello,
What wp-content name are you changing and why?Hello,
Renaming the wp-content folder is one of the security levels of the iThemes Security plugin (formerly Better WP security). I apply it on all my sites. Never broke a theme.
Anyway, I don’t see any reason for the bootstrap icons to disappear…
I can’t replicate this problem. Did you change any other options when you used iThemes Security plugin?
Also, are there any plugins on this particular site that you don’t use on other sites? Some plugins may hardcode
wp-contentand break if that directory is renamed.“Anyway, I don’t see any reason for the bootstrap icons to disappear…”
– Well, if the directory is renamed then it may cause the problem.Theme uses WP standards to enqueue styles. So, it might be that some plugin is causing the issue.
Thank you for your answers @tasko @stephencottontail.
I will reload the safe backup today to test every item of security. I’ll be back later 🙂Hello,
I just tested two times, point by point, all the elements of the iThemes Security plugin (medium and low levels). The wp-content renaming breaks clearly the theme.
I made this process dozen of times and I never encountered this problem.
@tasko : your wp theme is beautiful and it’s a pity that I can’t fix my problem. Anyway, I will change the template or not to rename the wp-content.
Even so, I’ll rate your work with 4 stars. 🙂
Can you post the exact steps you took when the theme broke (i.e., what settings on iThemes Security were active)? If there is a problem with the theme, having this information would make it easier for the theme developer to find and fix it.
After each new step (below), I refreshed the blog and the cache.
That’s why I say that renaming thewp-contentfolder causes the issue.
Only after activating this item, the bootstrap icons broke. (only that)Here are the checked items in chronological order :
MEDIUM LEVEL
-change admin ID
-away mode
-file change detections
-hide backend
-protect system files
-blocking suspiscious looking URL
-reduce comment spam
-php uploads
LOW LEVEL
-enforcing strong passwords
-disable directory browsing
-filter request methods
-filter long URL strings
-RSD reader (remove)
-display random WP version
-renaming wp-contentThanks
Thanks for posting that list. I don’t have time to check it out today, but I’ll ping @tasko again. Hopefully he might be able to shed some light on this.
it’s great !
thank you very much
