• Hello,

I am working on a child theme and want to know if it is possible to rename the page names on a navigation bar to show something else?
In the parent theme for the design the nav bar shows up a link to the other page ( blog) but when I activate the child theme – it now shows Homepage and Blog. I don’t want this to be the case and want to add more pages ( which I ok with : ) )but want to rename the homepage to either About or maybe not include it all – I am not sure what would be the correct thing to do, with regards what is best practice??

    Anyway, thanks in advance.

    Kind Regards
    Nick

  • Nick, have you looked at the ‘Appearance -> Menus’ section of the WordPress dashboard? If you click on one of the links, you can change the navigation bar menu items to display whatever you’d like without renaming the initial pages.

    Thanks Ben,
I have looked under the appearance section but can’t see anywhere I can change the name of the page to appear as anything different on the website …. Quite confused about this. The nav bar currently has

    BLOG CONTACT HOMEPAGE WORK

and i want it to be

ABOUT BLOG CONTACT WORK… ( not shouting , it is styled in CAPS : ) )

Any takers ( it is an exercise as part of a course I am doing )

    Nick
