Changing permalinks breaks pictures

    Hi,
    I am using MXS theme and I want to use the custom permalinks function too. The problem is that when I change the permalink setting almost every picture I have on my site breaks/disappears.
    Any pointers on how to deal or what to change to have this working ?
    I found some solutions on the web but I am only a wordpress beginner so I did not want to break something instead of fixing it.
