changing ?p=123 to ?v=123

Hi i am using wordpress to run an adult video site and i’d like to change

http://www.sitename.com/?p=123

to

http://www.sitename.com/?v=123

Does anybody know how i can do this? My site is on a shared windows server account and i cannot use custom permalinks.
