Changing menu color or image

I’m trying to change the color or even the entire image but when i go into my css file it tells me that its using a file called image/menu.png when I go in my folders theres not a file named that? I don’t even have an image of the menu bar in my folder? That doesn’t seam right to me. I’m new at word press so maybe I’m just missing out on something.
