Changing images from square to horizontal

At http://halfwaytoconcord.com, apparently YARPP pulls image from “featured image” of a post which is a horizontal format and squeezes it into a square format, distorting the image.

I only want to use the widget as there are conflicts when using the default as it does not clear the space of the “click to print” plugin which should appear first after the post body.

So in the widget, how do I get YARPP to take the landscape 360×200 featured image and use similar aspect only smaller in the widget?
