Changing from default permalinks to postname
-
Hi everyone,
I have a simple question, but not sure how to proceed.
I created a full working site, but I forgot to switch the permalinks setting at the start of development. I recently switched the setting, but I still had to adjust the permalink names of the already published pages to match up with the navigation properly. I’ve done so for the menu items, but just wondering… For the sake of indexing or SEO, should I go into every page that has an internal link and change the urls? They are still linked to the default page structure /?page_id=xxx, but are resolving to the new permalinked pages properly.
As an example… If you look on this page http://segalroitman.com/practice-areas/, all of the links in the body of the post as well as the footer still reference the default permalink. If you click on any of them, they will get you to the right place, but should I manually change the actual urls for each instance of an internal link? I’m wondering the advantages or drawbacks to making the link changes.
Thanks in advance.
