Changing Footer Menu Color with Responsive Theme

I am using Responsive Free Theme: http://cyberchimps.com/responsive-theme/

I am trying to change the footer menu color.

I need a step by step explanation, including any code you can provide for me to use, along with where and how to place it.

I have scowered everywhere and cannot figure it out.

I have looked and lots of plugins, to no avail.

If you know of a plugin that for sure works easily, please advise.
