I have set my site up using WordPress and the Twenty Twenty Four theme.

Whilst changes I make to the site are perfectly visible on my PC, they are not visible on my phone or another PC.

I have disabled the cache plugins. I have Twentig enabled.

Everything else is fine, just can’t seem to get others to see the changes.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Darren

  • Hi!

Do you see the changes on your PC even with a different browser, or whilst logged out of the website?

There might be some server-side caching, or a CDN, for example, which displays the cached version to non-logged in visitors.

    Thanks for the response.

Yes, when looking using a different browser on my PC, I get the old content. So perhaps my host is caching somewhere then?

Probably yes. Or you are using Cloudflare (or a different CDN), and you are seeing cached version from there. You can try installing a caching plugin and clearing the website cache. That might force cache rebuild on the server.

I have disabled the cache plugins.

I saw the following in your homepage’s HTML source yesterday:

<!-- Page Cached by SpeedyCache, took 0.28749394416809 seconds to cache, on 05-08-24 19:38:49 -->

So it seems the page was being cached by the SpeedyCache plugin.

If the plugin was disabled as you said, then an upstream cache (perhaps your Litespeed webserver) might have cached the plugin’s cache — which is why the cache persisted after disabling the plugin.

The domain does not use Cloudflare at all (looking at DNS lookup).

    Today I’m seeing:

    <!-- Page cached by LiteSpeed Cache 6.3.0.1 on 2024-08-06 15:20:04 -->

So it seems you’ve switched to the Litespeed cache plugin, which is what you should be using as your server uses the Litespeed webserver software.

Is your issue resolved now? If so, please mark your post as RESOLVED.

    Thank you, and good luck!

Thanks for your help here. The issue is now resolved and the page is cached correctly.
