Changed WP address, getting 404 error at admin login | WordPress.org

I was in my settings and changed my wp address and site address to my standard site address. In other words, I changed them both from http://www.mysight.com/wordpress/ (I think) to http://www.mysight.com. Now when i try to go to my admin page to sign in, i get a 404 error. Is this fixable or do I need to start over? Ugh. I’m using godaddy cpanel, if that matters.

Changing the site address is more involved than it looks from the settings page 🙂

It’s absolutely fixable. Can you access your site files via ftp? (You should be able to through GoDaddy’s cpanel as well.) These directions should help you get your site back pretty easily.

You may also find that article helpful for understanding what you should do next, in order to actually change your website address.

Thank you for your help, Peninah and cedcommerce. I’ll follow your directions and let you know how it goes. Peninah, you’re absolutely right. Even the simplest things seem to be booting me in the behind! 🙂

Change them properly.

If you know how to access phpMyAdmin on your host, then check the wp_options Table (Note: The table prefix of wp_ may be different if you changed it when installing), and make sure siteurl field and home field are correct.
