So, in the settings menu from my admin page, I changed my WordPress URL from http://www.shawnmicskills.com to http://www.thetrademarkexperience.com (I own both domains, along with 5 others, and all 7 URLs had been programmed to link back to http://www.shawnmicskills.com, so I didn’t think changing the URL from one to another would be an issue). So, of course, this is a bad idea, and now I can no longer login to my blog. The bigger issue is that I cannot access phpmyadmin, because the host domain was set-up by a third party (with whom I am no longer in contact). I know Dreamhost is the server, but as I said, I am not the one who set it up, so I cannot access that info.
Is there anyway to change my URL back to the original without phpmyadmin access and without being able to log in to wordpress, or am I screwed? For the record, my site is still up and seems to be 100% (all 7 URLs work, as well), I just can’t log in.

I would appreciate any help/advice I can get.

    Thanks,
    Tom

  • Hey TheTradeMarkExperience

If you changed the URL, i guess index.php should be edited too.

    Thanks for the help everyone.

Shane, those articles were informative, but unfortunately I cannot access wp-config, I don’t have access via FTP and I don’t know how to access my WordPress Database (a third party set-up my blog and he is the one who has access to phpmyadmin). I am not a techie, as I said I didn’t set up the blog myself, and a lot of these tutorials don’t make sense to me or explain things in the way I need them explained.

Kim, index.php leads me to a 404 page not found page.

Can anyone explain to me in layman’s terms how to rectify this situation?

    Tom
