I wanted to change the website to HTTPS from HTTP.
I followed this link on how to change it, which got me to add it in the settings => general.
But now I cant access the website it redirects to a bluehost (webhost for the site) admin page briefly. This means I cannot access /wp-admin to change it back.

I have tried adding code to the functions.php, .htaccess and wp-config.php as suggested in this.

But nothing is working. Any ideas

If you FTP Into the hosting server, can you see any SSL related plugins in the plugin folder?

Can you share the URL of the site here?

    Csaapac.org

It’s loading under HTTP for me, but it’s loading *very* slowly.

Many of your images are broken because they don’t exist, like http://www.csaapac.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/CSTAR_Banner-1.jpg returning 404 Not Found.

Overall though, nothing is kicking back as HTTPS for me, so try clearing your browser’s cache.

Iv cleared it multiple times and have tried it in chrome and firefox. I can login but whenever it try csaaac.org/wp-admin or csaapac.org/csaapacwp/wp-admin. It wont load and just times out.
The second url is the path of wp-admin

Ok, so HTTPS is no longer a problem for you, it’s just the timeout?

In that case, you need to contact your hosting provider. With your site loading incredibly slow, and wp-admin timing out, it sounds like the server you’re on may be under some very heavy load right now.

    All fixed now.

    Thanks.

I have the solution right here, but you will need to be able to access your Database directly.

In the guide below, you will follow commands that instruct the DB to change https back to http:
