• Hi!
Feeling really stupid here… I haven’t been using WordPress or any other similar site much (say almost never). I wanted to change my url to new one because my name has changed. I would eventually wanted to do it by redirect but since I was reading the instructions I saw that you chould just simply do it like this:
“The “Home” setting is the address you want people to type in their browser to reach your WordPress blog.
The “Site URL” setting is the address where your WordPress core files reside.
Well, I wanted to see whether it’s this simple and changed the home url to http://www.lottahanski.com (new one) and left the site url to http://www.lottasoini.com (old one). Next moment I was thrown out from the system and cannot log in any longer, because the address is obviously not correct.
Sorry for this idiotism, but is there any way to get my (old) site back and to be able to update that again…?

Hmm. http://www.lottasoini.com opens, but the site is broken. I used the Twenty Fourteen default theme.

It does indeed look like a site URL issue. Try adjusting your site URL manually. This should get you going in the right direction:

    Thanks Jeff!
Those are good advice and will consider them if I get to the site again.
Unfortunately I can’t log into my account any more. The log in page html is also somehow broken, it doesn’t look the same.

Scroll down the page a bit to the part that involves changing it within your wp-config.php file. Once you change your site URL in there, you should be able to access everything just fine.

    Hi!
Tried to do it, but I get this message:
Your connection to this server has been blocked
Please contact our customer support for further information.
Your blocked IP address is xx.xx.xx.xx etc.
Is there really a customer support? I’ve only found these Forums so far.

That’s a message from your host. Contact them.
