Changed function.php on responsive boat and it crashed

Hi all,

So I’m using the responsive boat theme and widgets were showing up were they shouldn’t have, so I put in PHP code to cancel them, but the website crashed. I had no access to modify the error so I contacted my host support and they used ftp (I assume) to cancel the theme.

I used a fresh(unedited) version of the theme (so I taught) and ran it again but it crashed.

I used updraft to backup my website before I went at anything. so can I use this and just run my old format without any issues ?? or will wordpress still sh*t itself and crash on me.
