Change the homepage title

Hello,

I’m using wordpress for my site and I love it. But I have some issues. I’ll explain one of them here :

I would like to change my homepage title so it show either only the name of the site, or the name and the description.

I’ve changed the “Page” of the homepage to “MySiteNamePlusTheDescription” to optimize SEO but I would like to know if it’s ok to do this because when I look on Google Analytics I see that two pages are most seen : “Home – Archives” and “MySiteNamePlusTheDescription”. What is “Home – Archives”? I thought it was my homepage…

What can I do to optimize SEO and have my link appear with “TheSiteName – Description” on Google and not “TheSiteName – Home”
