Did you loaded the child theme style.css file like it’s explained here?
If yes, then the css code should apply fine, you could also try this css:
body::selection {
color: #fff;
background-color: #5C53BA;
}

when I change text selection color it does not change in child theme!
Maybe that’s because you have some old css that rewrites this option?
That’s weird, I just double checked this on my end and everything works great, see the video.

What is not helping? As I can see the color option works fine, I even tested this on your website and it also works fine…
What has the child theme here to do?
Isn’t the color changing like this on your end?
Maybe record a video and show it to me so I could better understand your problem.
