• We had to modify an order due to the customer not being fully verified to order a certain variation. All orders are set to manually capture. While we can edit the order’s line items and change the total, this does not update the original WeConnect Pay total. If we were to capture the charge, it would charge the customer the original total and not the new one.

Is it possible to have the authorized charge update to reflect the new total?

    Hi there!

Yes, that is already how it works.

Currently, capturing from the WooCommerce order screen sends the order’s current total, not the amount originally authorized, so an order that was edited down will capture the new lower total. Make sure the edited order is saved and recalculated before you press “Capture Preauthorized Charge”, and the order note added right after the capture will confirm the exact amount taken.

One limit worth knowing: the capture cannot exceed the amount originally authorized, so editing an order upward is not supported the same way.

If what you are seeing does not match that, please email support@weeconnectpay.com with your store URL and the order number and we will look at that specific transaction for you.

One improvement that will be added thanks to your feedback: It should display the amount that is about to be captured BEFORE it happens, not after, so that merchants can see that the total hasn’t been updated.

If you feel this isn’t the right way to go, I would be happy to handle your suggestions through our ticketing system.
