Sure, the whole site or just the index page? Make sure whichever way you choose, you set the home and site url’s correctly.

What I want to do is to move the installation out of the WP directory and into the root directory.
Do I have to change anything?? Permalinks?? Change the index.php??

You would if you had permalinks on, but you don’t. You’ll just need to change the “pointers” in the admin section to where the files will be (it is in General Options):

what about if you have permilinks enabled.. what do you do then?
