I have a website that has German as the main language and English and Spanish as additional languages.

Now I want English to be the main language and the others are no longer used.

I also don’t want the new main language to have a directory in the URL (/en).

    How can I solve this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello there,

    Thank you for reaching us!

Changing the default language will invalidate existing translations. We can’t keep them because the translations are directional and you’ll also need to change ALL your content directly in the new language.

The default language is the language your content was written in.

If you want another language to be the first language, then simply enable:

    • Use TranslatePress -> Settings -> Subdirectory for default language -> Yes
    • Reorder the languages

If you do not use the languages you have anymore, you need to know that to set English as default language, you will need to write your whole content into English to be displayed correctly.

If there’s anything else, please let me know!

    Kind Regards,
