Change Administrator Email

    A previous employee of the company setup their wordpress using his email account as admin. He left working there and no longer has the email account he used to on his own server. I have changed the email address but it continues to state:

    The new address will not become active until confirmed.

    Please help me change this without need of confirmation from that previous employee.

    Is this a wordpress.com site or a self-hosted WordPress install?

    It is self-hosted through Surpass Hosting.

    The full message is (bold highlighting added):

    This address is used for admin purposes. If you change this we will send you an e-mail at your new address to confirm it. The new address will not become active until confirmed.>

    Thanks for your help. I did receive an email from wordpress.

    I made the mistake of assuming that the previous employee was the one who had to approve it.

    I clicked on the link in the email and it still says:

    The new address will not become active until confirmed.
