• Hi,
For some reason when viewing my blog on the latest version of Internet Explorer (8), it centralises all my text written on the blog.

Does anyone know why this happens? (A simple answer would be welcome)
It works fine on Firefox and Google Chrome. The theme is called ‘Dark Effect’
    The website URL is: http://www.RnbUncovered.Com

    Thanks,
    Barry.

  • Check the Ad code at the bottom of your sidebar:

    <div><a target="_top" href="http://www.adbrite.com/mb/commerce/purchase_form.php?opid=1135776&afsid=1" style="font-weight:bold;font-family:Arial;font-size:13px;">Your Ad Here</a></div>
    <!-- End: AdBrite --><center></div>

and get rid of the <center> tag.

Thanks, i’ve got it so it’s not centralised anymore.
But for some reason my posts have gone slanted?

    Can anyone help me further?

    Thanks,
    Barry.

Um… “slanted” is really an incredibly difficult effect to pull off design-wise. Generally, everything on the web tends to be perfectly perpendicular or horizontal. My best guess is that what you’re seeing is an optical illusion. Honestly!

That is honestly what I thought, sounded quite strange.
The footer is also not showing up as it should do while viewed in Firefox.

I’ve uploaded a couple of pics:

    Footer: http://i31.tinypic.com/24g955i.jpg
    Slant?: http://i26.tinypic.com/fup369.jpg

Thanks for all your help so far,
    Barry.

The “slant” is definitely an optical illusion. I even double checked it using your screen shot and guide wires in a graphics application. It does happen sometimes.

With regard to the footer, the screenshot you posted was taken in IE – not FF. Since I normally use FF3, I re-checked in IE8 and, yes, there’s a footer difference.

Unfortunately, you have quite a few validation errors on that site that could be contributing to the footer issue in IE. The ones that you really do need to fix are those that mention:

    – “end tag for …”
    – “document type does not allow…”
    – “ID […] already defined”

Once they’re sorted, the problem may resolve but, if it doesn’t, it should then be fixable – probably via CSS.

Thanks for all your help Esmi.
When I get some time, I will try to fix some of these validation errors.

I’m very glad that the WordPress forum has members like you!

It sure is “slanted” in IE7. Every next post is about 12px to the right. Saw the topic before, but I have no idea. Indeed, get rid of the validation errors and you did not paste directly from Word, did you, because Esmi allways says this messes up layouts 🙂
