Centering of Header Items

Since updating to new version I’ve been struggling to centre header items. The Logo works fine. The tag line and menu items don’t centre.

I’ve put in the relevant sections from the updated http://themesandco.com/snippet/center-header-block-items/
but this doesn’t work.

I’ve removed most of the other css I had previously to make sure no confilcts but still not managed to get it to work.
