Category Widget not displaying in sidebar after adding post

Hi,

I added only one post on a new blog and used the category sidebar widget but it’s not displaying. I did add the post to a category, so I know you have to add a post to a category before it shows up but it doesn’t. I did a test post in another category but have the same issue.
