I have a default category set as “Promotions”

It currently has 10 posts but is displaying as 29.

Is there a way to “recount” the posts in a category?

What could be causing the problem? Any ideas?

With no URL or theme given, the only suggestion I can make is based on the use of wp_list_categories to display what you are seeing.

This article may point you in the direction you need to sort out this issue: http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_list_categories

You will need to review your theme code against the parameters settings explained.

Heres what I see

When I click on the “31” I see only 12 posts.

Promotions is the default category.

Are there hidden posts somewhere in the DB that its counting?

I tried to change the number directly through SQL, but it changes right back.
