The category iist in the CRUD dialog for link editing is in some random order. Could it please be alphabetized as it has been for post categories?

If it’s link you are asking after, look at the orderby= parameter with the template tag, wp_list_bookmarks().

Nope, in the admin interface (…/wp-admin/link.php?action=edit&link_id=###) the categories list is not ordered in any discernible way.
