Our core plugin has no categories included and the same is true for the premium modules–you can define ANY categories you want to use (or not use, in your case).
Creating new categories is easy–go under Classifieds->Categories and add new ones as you wish. We give you a default one (that you can rename, but not delete because AWPCP requires at least 1 category to be present at all times) to start with.
Do the ads post immediately or can I set them up so that I have to approve them before they post?

You can have it either way–if you want to force admins to approve ads first, go under Classifieds->Settings, Ad/Listing tab and set “Admin must approve ads”
Thank you for your quick reply. If I have it set so that the classified ads do “NOT” have to be approved by admin first, is there something like a “Report As Spam” link the public can click on to notify our admin people that this ad needs my attention?

There’s a flag ad that marks the ad for review in the admin console, which is probably the closest thing here. It doesn’t automatically remove the ad or anything, just marks it so you can find it if the community deems it to be a problem.
