Catalogue Loads Extremely Slowly

    Hey guys,

    I’m trying to run a catalogue of 700+ items using this plug-in. I have added three custom fields. Load time is excruciating (20-30 sec +) and I have no media loaded yet, just the list. Is this too big for UPCP to handle or am I encountering an issue on my server side? I’ve played with Items per page and there seems to be no change as well as removing search features but with no joy.
    Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Sean,

    Happy to hear that you chose our plugin. Here are a few recommendations to cut down on loading times:

    – Divide your products into pages to reduce the number of products that are rendered at once (set this number in the Settings > Options > Premium Options)
    – Set Product Search = name only
    – Set Custom Slug Conversion = No
    – Reduce the number of available views i.e. only thumbnail view
    As a final option, if the load times are still lagging you may have to split up your categories into separate pages to reduce the number of products per catalogue. Server side speeds are often a culprit when it comes to large catalogues.
