Cart Error Message

I intermittently but often get an error message on my Shop page:
“(Product Name) has been removed from your cart because it can no longer be purchased. Please contact us if you need assistance.”
I do not have a Woocommerce cart activated, as I am using Woo for a catalog only and have a Shopify Add To Cart button on my products.
I recently added a YITH plugin to additionally disable any cart activity, and also Super Cache.
How can I stop this from happening — thanks for your help!

Hi there Ned,
That is certainly strange! Usually that message would be displayed if a product has been added to the Cart, but then it went out of stock or something else changed that would cause it to be unavailable. If Cart functionality on your site is disabled though, then it seems that message should not be displayed.
About how often do you see it appear? A few times a day?
Please share a copy of your site’s System Status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here in your reply. Please note that since this is a public forum, you may want to remove any sensitive information that you don’t want shared publicly.

Thanks for responding!
A couple of observations. I opened the shop page from 3 different browsers, with no error message. My client would surely have told me if she had experienced the problem, which she has not.
This morning, to pull the WooCommerce status report (which follows), I went to the shop page, and there it was again. I would almost say that the problem occurs only when I am logged into the Admin.

Thank you very much for providing that Status Report. I also did not see the error at all while clicking around through the shop and products, and hard refreshing the pages. I think your note about it only seeming to happen when you are logged in as admin could be related.
Checking the plugin code, it seems that error message you are seeing is triggered in the
get_cart_from_sessionmethod in the/woocommerce/includes/class-wc-cart-session.phpfile. I am guessing that is being called at some point in one of the other active plugins on the site (likely either theMMWD Remove Add To Cart for WooCommerceorYITH WooCommerce Catalog Mode: by YITHplugin).In order to narrow down what is causing it, I would recommend conflict testing by deactivating plugins aside from WooCommerce and switching back to the default Storefront theme, then testing to see if you still see the issue.
If that resolves the issue, then re-enable the theme first, and then plugins one at a time until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.

If you don’t have one already, your hosting company might offer one as part of your package. Alternatively, you can use a free plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-staging/
That said though, if it is only occurring for your user when logged in as admin and not affecting customers/visitors on the site, then perhaps it would be ok to just ignore it.

Without getting too deep into this matter, I tried several different setting combinations on the above-mentioned plugins, and after trial-and-error have to keep it the way it is.
I am comfortable in the assumption that the error message is only seen by the admin once per session and not by visitors, (it is always the same product “Clarity”, and when messing with the plugins it was only with this item in the Shop page that the links were oddly affected), I am going to stand pat.
