Carousel feature

I downloaded the XEN carousel plugin for my website here. I am clueless as to how to set it up. According to what I have read, I need to load images into the media library, which I have done. After that, it is very hard for me to understand how to enable it. In the documentation that came with the template, it says once I create a post, I need to check an option on the post set up screen to include it in the list of featured articles, so that it appears on the carousel, however that option is nowhere to be seen. Can anyone please explain to me, step by step, how to fix this?
