I stopped the “card checking” on my website, however, now the fraudsters are still trying to create havoc on my site by creating customers. Since my settings do NOT ALLOW any accounts or users to be made, there are no failed orders, I just see a list of emails in customers under drafts. I can delete them because they are in orders under “drafts”. I can move them to trash, empty the trash and all the names with email addresses in “customers” disappear. THESE Fraudsters are insidious and keep trying to hack into my site. I DO NOT LET People make accounts or register. I only have Guest Checkout. I have added security and Captchas that stopped the card checking. Is there anything I can do to stop them from creating these customers that are in drafts? THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING.

  • Hi @stvdesigns,

Thank you for sharing the details of your concern. To help address this issue, I recommend the following steps in your WooCommerce settings:

    1. Disable Account Creation:

    • Ensure that the allow customers to create an account “during checkout”, “after checkout” and “on the My Account page” options are turned off.

    2. Enable Password Setup Link (Recommended):

    • Enable the “When creating an account, send the new user a link to set their password” option. This will add another layer of protection.

These changes should help reduce the likelihood of these drafts being created.

Additionally, I recommend reviewing this guide for further tips on preventing and responding to card testing attacks: Preventing and Responding to Card Testing Attacks.
