• Hi,

what a beautiful theme!! I like it a lot, but have two questions:

    1. How do I avoid an article without a image showing up in the feature carousel? The only way I can think of is making one category “carousel” or “featured” and assign this to all articles which I want to show. But is there another solution?

    2. Here on the demo pages there is a caption inside a picture. How to do that?

    Thanx and greetings, Joerg

  • Hi! Thanks.

    1. Currently, the best solution is to do as you say, create a featured category.

    2. Add a caption to the image in the media library info, and it will appear! 🙂

I think what Jockel was asking with number 2 (and I have the same question) is not how to add a caption to a photo, but how to get it to have the same style as the one in your demo, with the caption hovering over the photo rather than below it. If you look at this post, for example, it seems to be using some default caption style rather than your really cool one.

By the way, I love this theme! Thank you for taking the time to make it and support it.

Your post is in standard format.
Try making post in image format, set featured image, add caption and see what happens 🙂

Ah, that works, but unfortunately it only changes the caption on the featured image – most of my posts have at least two images. If I want all images to always have the stylised caption, regardless of post format, is it just a matter of changing the default caption style class in a child theme to match the featured image style class?

Thank you again for your help 🙂

You’re welcome, well, you asked for post & image from demo page.
Featured post image and caption (.image-container , .image-caption) are defined in style.css from line 387 (/* common : responsive image + caption) and “normal” images position and caption (.entry .wp-caption etc.) from line 203 (/* image position & caption */).
So, yes – for rest of images play with CSS in child theme.

Yay, I fixed it! Thank you so much for your help, that made things a lot easier. And thank you for a great theme!

Hi, I want to ask you. If I make a photogallery i need to have a caption under the pics. But caption, not the whole sentence, is visible only in previews, not in large pictures if you click on them. Can I do it something, to gat the caption under every large picture?
