Support » Plugin: Admin Page Notes » Capability

  • I think it would be more reasonable to check for capability “edit_others_posts” instead of “activate_plugins”. These notes are useful everyone that may edit others posts, like the editor role. I can see what “activate_plugins” capability has to do with this functionality.

In all other respects, this plugin is excellent.

  • I like the idea of allowing editors to create the notes, particularly on blog style sites with multiple authors and someone actually fulfilling the role of “Editor” who doesn’t have admin access.

The main problem though is that the inspiration for the plugin came from a need to provide additional information and helpful hints to clients who were given editor access to maintain their site.

Adding this feature would require adding some sort of settings/configuration page which I believe is a bit too hefty for what the plugin currently aims to be. But it definitely is something I would consider. 🙂

    Thank you for answering.

I see the original inspiration, and that’s great. That is also the way I initially used this plugin. However, they also need to learn using this feature as a editor-to-editor communicative tool.

If not a settings page, a filter for the capability would be sufficient for me.
