…so I’ve dug deeper in my database.
“wp_user_roles” appears in “wp_options”.
Its full of redundant user role options for the GiveWP plugin that I’ve removed.
GiveWP uses Forms in the Everest Forms Plugin. I’ve completely removed the Everest Forms, too, but I still have redundant user roles.
After deleting Restrict User Access, I can see that wp_user_roles hasn’t changed, at all.
So simply deactivating, deleting and re-installing makes no difference.
Any ideas?
Hi there,
I’m one of the co-author’s of the GiveWP plugin. To fully remove all the GiveWP database tables and user roles do the following:
1. Activate the plugin again
2. Navigate to “Donations > Settings > Advanced”
3. There, enable the option about deleting all data on uninstall
4. Uninstall and delete GiveWP
You should be good to go after that.
Also, just to clarify, we don’t have anything to do with the “Everest Forms Plugin” at all. So if you want to benefit from all the features GiveWP offers, we’d love to help you have success. Just reach out in our contact form and we’re happy to address any problems you might have had.
Thanks!
Hi Matt,
Thanks for the response. I can confirm that I found that advice on the GiveWP forum, and tried it. Sadly the wp_user_roles remain unchanged.
I will re-install it now and try again, just to be sure. I also clicked Delete all at the time of deactivating the plugin.
(Thanks for clarifying the Everest Form confusion)
Let me try to replicate that and see if something changed somehow.
One thing you can do as a workaround is install “User Role Editor”. That will allow you to manage all user roles and capabilities, including delete them.
I’ll report back on Monday with what I find in relation to our deletion routines.
Thanks!
Hi @tandaylor
I can confirm the issue and have filed a bug report for this: https://github.com/impress-org/givewp/issues/4491
That’s great. Thanks for following this through.
