    Hello,

For a few months now the recently blocked ip addresses are not populating on the “blocking” page of the backend of my site. I like to go in and manually make any suspicious ones permanent. I had been able to do this previously and am not having the issue on another site. Any idea how to fix this?

    Thank you,

    Nick

  • Hello @amsakwp,

Can you go to the Wordfence > Firewall page and select the Rate Limiting section? I’m curious to know the values set for the Rate Limiting Rules. The values set on this page determine the length of time the blocked IP addresses show on the Blocking page where you can also permanently block the suspicious IPs

Let us know if adjusting those values resolves the issue.

    Thanks,
    Steve

    The settings are as follows:

    1920
    1920
    960
    960
    960
    2
    1 month

I changed 1 month to 10 days, saved, then back to 1 month and saved just to attempt to refresh, but I am still having the same issue. Any other ideas?

    @amsakwp,

Do you mind opening the console your browser (access via the [F12] key) on the Blocking page and look for any red text in the “console” and “network” tabs? I want to make sure there are no javascript errors on that page causing the blocked IPs to not display on the page.

Let us know what you find on that page.

    Thanks,
    Steve

I did what you said. I have a screenshot of the errors that might be helpful for you to see. It is posted at this link: https://prnt.sc/jtoeva This seems to be the main error: “Uncaught Reference Errors: iQuery is not defined”

    Thoughts?

    @amsakwp,

Thanks for the screenshot. Do you know if you are using Cloudflare’s Rocket Loader feature? We’ve seen a couple issues with clients using that and receiving the jQuery messages on the Blocking page like in your screenshot. If you do have that plugin, can you temporarily disable it and see if the blocked IPs are now visible.

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Steve,

Thank you for the suggestion. After disabling the Rocket Loader feature I was able to again view the blocked IPs. Once turning Rocket Loader back on they stopped loading again. I would like to keep the Rocket Loader on. Is there a way allow for the blocked ips to show while keeping Rocket Loader on? This was possible previously without any issue.

    Thanks.

Hi @wfsteve. Just checking in again.

    Hi @amsakwp

Unfortunately, there is no solid answer to your question. I understand it was working fine at some point in the past and it’s not like that now but this is not because of a change in Wordfence as Rocket Loader service keeps getting updates as well, around last month there was a glitch that caused other problems, you can follow that here:
    https://community.cloudflare.com/t/rocket-loader-update-is-active-in-wp-admin/17900

It’s also known that Rocket Loader might break some scripts while running and that’s what you could do in this case.

    Thanks.

I’m also using Cloudflare’s Rocket Loader feature on my website along with Wordfence and I didn’t face any such problem.

By the way, I have disabled Live Traffic since the beginning.

    Hi @amsakwp,
Since we haven’t heard from you for a while I’m going to go ahead and resolve this thread. If you have any other questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to open a new one.

    Thanks!
