Can't Upload New Images?

    Never had this problem before… am trying to update my site for the first time in a few months. Went to upload an image and it says: “The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/jennag/public_html/wp-content/uploads.” I’ve tried repeatedly, different files, and nothing is working. Help?

    I temporarily set permissions to 777 (and put them right back), but don’t want to do that all the time. Is there a real solution? Keeping in mind that I’m a technical beginner.

    the folder uploads + subfolder are set on 777?

    No. I just did that for a few seconds to upload a photo.
