What is the name of the theme with the problem?
Dandelion. I’m happy to ditch it. I’d like to update the php too, but I’m afraid to do this without resolving the incompatibilities first.
This is what now appears at the top of the site:
Notice: Undefined variable: portfolio_cat_names in /home/dtolar77/public_html/wp-content/themes/dandelion/functions/meta.php on line 115
Notice: Undefined variable: portfolio_cat_ids in /home/dtolar77/public_html/wp-content/themes/dandelion/functions/meta.php on line 116
It looks like that theme no longer offers support: https://themeforest.net/item/dandelion-powerful-elegant-wordpress-theme/136628/support
You could try reaching out to ThemeForest/Envato about this at https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us but it might be time for a new theme that’s still supported.
All of the themes we have here are free: https://wordpress.org/themes/browse/new/
Yes, I found a theme. So my question is, if I change the theme, will the error go away? Is it safe to just change it. There’s no database or anything complex on this site.
Thanks.
If you switch to a different theme, all errors regarding your old theme will stop.
Also, do you think it’s worthwhile to put an editor like Elementor onto a stock site?
I don’t use Elementor myself.
I find the built-in editor to be sufficient: https://wordpress.org/support/article/wordpress-editor/
You have been super helpful. Thank you so much!
