• Yeah, I know – why the hell would I want to anyway? Well, *I* don’t, but the person I’m installing a WordPress site for *does*. ::shudder:: I can’t seem to talk her out of it.

Anyway, I had it shut off, but now the damn thing won’t turn back *on*. I have it checked in both places: under “Options>Writing” and the “Users should use the visual rich editor by default” box is checked; and then again under “users”, the “Use the visual rich editor when writing” box is also checked. However, it’s not there – won’t show up.

I’m using 2.04, and the plugins that are activated are: Lucky 13 Rewrite, URL Encoded Permalinks, Fold Page List, Head META Description, Jerome’s Keywords, Dagon Design Sitemap Generator, and SEO Title Tag.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks 🙂

  • Hmm, odd.. What I’d do is, I’d go through each plugin, one at a time..and disable them, one at a time once. Then, after you disable one, go see if it’s showing up. If not, just repeat the process, until it does show up. =/

If need be, just delete the wp-includes/js stuff..then reupload new.. I dunno though.. but, I’d do what I said above first though.. 😉 Good luck with it, and hopefully someone else might know of an answer too! 😉

    thought I’d update –

It must be just me. Other administrators are having no problems whatsoever seeing the WYSIWYG editor. In fact, even with all checkboxes marked correctly, it’s *acting* like it’s turned on for me, but it doesn’t *look* like it is (it looks exactly the way it does when turned off for me).

But no one else is having a problem – so I’m letting it go. All I’m doing is setting the thing up – I’m not the one who’s gonna be using it 🙂

Hey doodlebee, does it happen with all your browsers?

If using firefox, anything interesting show up in the error console (tools menu)?

Actually – I just use Firefox – haven’t tried writing a post in anything else. i forgot about that error console…let me check it out…

Well holy crap – yes there are errors!

Line 291: Unknown property ‘filter’. Declaration dropped.
    Line 683: tinyMCE.addPlugin is not a function
Line 995: Unknown property ‘filter’. Declaration dropped.
Line 994: Unknown property ‘-khtml-opacity’. Declaration dropped.
Line 619: Unknown property ‘zoom’. Declaration dropped.

That’s all of them. How weird – I wonder why it’s doing that? On my localhost, this isn’t a problem…

Hmm, it appears you and this guy might be having the same errors and problems, and I have NO clue why, or what the possible solution is.. =/ =(
