We are experiencing an issue where we cannot select the credit card fields, on the checkout page. We cannot put a cursor in the credit card fields to type a card number, expiry date or CVV.

We can however switch between paypal and credit card, but inside the credit card fields, none are accessible.

I was able to reproduce this in our staging server. On our staging site, I’ve switched to the storefront themes and disabled all plugins except woocommerce and braintree. It appears to be a bug within your plugin.

In the link I’ve included for our live site, a product will be added to your cart. Then go to checkout and you should be able to reproduce the issue.

This issue seems to affect most if not all browsers.

    Hi @sagescrub,

Thanks for the added details. This is actually a known issue with the classic checkout. The credit‑card form won’t allow you to refocus the Expiration Date field after moving to the CVV. As soon as you tap the date field again, focus jumps straight back to CVV, so it becomes impossible to enter or correct the expiration date. Here’s a screen recording that shows the behavior: https://share.zight.com/7Ku9rZxb

Our development team is already working on a fix, though we don’t have an ETA yet. In the meantime, if it’s not too disruptive, a temporary workaround is to switch to the block‑based checkout, which doesn’t have this issue:

I hope that helps. Let us know if you need anything else.

@frankremmy I don’t think this is the same issue you described, because our issue prevented us from selecting any of the credit card fields from the beginning. We couldn’t even initially select the credit card field.

However, this morning the issue mysteriously went away. I’m hoping it doesn’t come back, but if it does I will re-open this ticket.

    Hi there!

Thanks for the clarification and for the update.

I’m glad to hear the problem has resolved itself for now. Sometimes issues like this can be caused by temporary script loading or caching problems, which don’t always leave a clear trace once they clear up.

If the issue does return, please feel free to reopen this ticket and let us know. If possible, any screenshots, console errors, or steps to reproduce the issue at that time would be very helpful.

Before you go, If you found the Braintree for WooCommerce Payment Gateway plugin helpful for your store, we’d really appreciate it if you could leave a five-star review here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce-gateway-paypal-powered-by-braintree/reviews/#new-post
