UPDATE
it turns out that the cursor is active in the box but it doesn’t flash and any text i write in there is white, so can only be detected when I highlight text.
This happens when creating posts and pages and I can’t switch to text editor
I have observed the same behavior from nxlogistics first post where the buttons and text box aren’t active. For me this only happens when I add the visual editor widget directly into a sidebar.
BUT
If I first add a page layout builder widget, create a row and insert the visual editor into the row then it acts normally.
seems it’s a problem with just the one PC. Tried successfully on Mac and PC laptop. Very strange.

This happens alot if there are JS errors on the page you’re editing, sometimes due to either a theme or plugin problem, or if you have an adblocker enabled.
Inspect the page and see if any JS problems are hitting the console.
