Can't login
-
I have just used the softaculous installer and wasn’t able to login with any information that it had setup nor any information that I have set. I have also then removed it all and manually done the install, same thing. What is going on with it?!?!

Did you remove all of the tables that softaculous created from your WordPress database before doing the clean, manual reinstall?
Yeah I had it delete the database, then I created a new database as well. Nothing is working at all, it seems the 4.5.2 is totally screwed to point it bluntly.
There’s nothing wrong with 4.5.2. You must have some minor error in the installation procedure.
– Make sure you remove all of the tables from your WordPress database. Leave the database, just remove all the tables.
– Remove all of the wordpress files from the prior failed attempts – make sure there are no files left behind that might have been generated by the failed softaculous installer.
– Re-install manually from a fresh download, making sure to write down the username and password you choose during the install routine.
Barring some unforeseen anomaly in your hosting environment, that’s really all there is to it.
Really? I don’t see how.. If you read what I have I put then you would see that I have done the softaculous AND also removed it then did a manual install with me making the database and also uploading them through FTP.
I have gone through and made sure that the DB was removed and all files. I have the same issue with ALL version it seems. Guessing at this point it’s the hosting provider?

Not having the advantage of seeing exactly what has been done, it’s often necessary to reinforce the correct procedure for clarification – it is in fact a series of steps that cannot be taken out of order, nor only partially performed if it is to be successful – in order to make sure that your understanding of what you are doing is equal to the steps necessary to achieve your goal.
It’s nothing personal. Frankly, IMHO, the softaculous installer is a shitty start. I wanted to be sure you were re-starting without any disadvantages, so to speak.

It would at this point, be a logical assumption that something in your environment – or a minor procedural error – is preventing a successful installation.
– How far do you actually get? At what exact point does the process fail
– Who is your host?
it allows me to create the whole process and create the account, everything is fine and when I click the login to admin part that’s when it doesn’t let me in.
the hosting I have at the moment is through Hostwired.
Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on the install process. I know it’s tedious, but let’s eliminate the easiest possibility first.
Delete only your database tables and then re-run the install at /wp-admin/install.php – no need to replace any files, just remove the tables in your database first.
It might be something in the characters you used for your WordPress admin username or password. This time, try a a username and password that doesn’t contain any special characters (assuming you may have used really strong choices previously) or complicated phrases, and see if you can log in afterwords.
That’s the thing, I have also gone with the basic username and password too.. admin : pass and that still doesn’t work. I have tried both DCTS and dcts then a password like Password, password (not that exact word but the formatting) and still can’t get in.
I went with a previous simple password and nothing still. All types aren’t working, whether it’s done through softaculous or done manually, everything is smooth until I try to login at http://news.domain.com/wp-admin/ (only for reference) and it just won’t accept the username password.
I have also tried to go to into the phpmyadmin and manually change the password to something simple like wifesname and save it as MD5, but still can’t login. Cleared cache and cookies, nothing at all.
It seems pretty strange that it only fails once you get to the initial login. It might be worth opening a ticket with your hosts support group to see if they have had any similar issues in the past, but I can’t think of anything else that might easily explain it.
I had softaculous investigate it and then also complained to the host provider as well and it seems that the new version of Softaculous + Chrome are the main issues, however im going to test it in another browser right now. If that fixes it then I will report it softaculous as a huge bug cause I don’t want to 2 browsers just to do my work hell even do anything in 2 browsers is not what I want to do really.
Thanks, will update once I have tested it out in Firefox.
