Can’t Log in after editing theme

    I was trying to edit the theme of a website and after I tried to preview the theme, the page stopped working and I can no longer log in to edit the site. The new theme also saved.

    Do you have access to the back end via a terminal to deactivate the theme? Or even ftp? You can upload a previously working copy of your theme or the functions.php file if that’s what you were working on.

    You can also enable WP_DEBUG in your config file and see what the issue might be.

    Or remove the theme folder from the server and WP will fall back on the next theme.

    Were you editing PHP? If so, download a new copy of the theme (from wherever you got it originally) and unzip on your local machine. Using FTP or your hosting control panel, upload the original copy of the file you were editing, replacing the one on the server.
