Can't get widgets to work properly

    I’ve just installed Evolve theme but when I drag and drop on the widgets and add to the sidebar it seems to have no effect on the blog page.
    Even if I remove all the sidebars my homepage still shows a selection of widgets.
    I’d be grateful for any help.
